This annual fee of R399 for Flexibreaks membership for KAPSL Members may easily be recouped by utilising just one or two nights accommodation per annum at Flexibreaks listed establishments (which offer Flexibreaks members discounts of up to 50%) and does, therefore, seem worthwhile - study the Flexibreaks website ... Flexibreaks has, for many years, had a close relationship with the SANDF (Army, Air Force and Navy) funds and SAPS funds and all force fund members have Flexibreaks membership. KAPSL Members wishing to join Flexibreaks must contact the KAPSL Secretary who will provide the member with a letter to Flexibreaks certifying that the member concerned (full name and ID number of member) is, in fact, a fully paid up member of KAPSL. KAPSL Members must be made aware of PROKARD Benefits.

Prokard Government is available free of charge to any government employee. Prokard Government members receive preferential Government rates at Protea Hotels. Rates include breakfast and your spouse says for free, but pays for breakfast. Limited to 2 occupants per room. A valid Government ID or Prokard Government membership card must be produced at check-in.

The Prokard Government membership is similar to the Prokard Silver membership which usually costs card holders R450-00pa. Gold and Platinum memberships which offer additional benefits, such as attractive discounts for dining at Protea Hotels, is also available, but a substantial annual fee. The Gold membership, for example, costs R1 150-00pa.

All KAPSL Members who are government employees (at any sphere and level of government) should avail themselves of the free Prokard Government membership. The free Government membership must also apparently be renewed annually.
